MiniWave Children’s Ministry

The heart of MiniWave is to create a life-giving atmosphere for children and families to connect with one another and with Life Center. We are excited to have the opportunity to share in the care and growth of your child. We realize our role is an important one in your child’s life, and we will strive to fulfill that role to the best of our ability. We are called as the church family to receive, nurture, and treasure each child as a gift from God and to give high priority to the quality of the planning for children and the preparation of those who will minister with them.

WHAT ARE DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP PROCEDURES?

At time of drop-off, parents will be asked to sign in their child. After signing in, the parent will receive a numbered tag that will match a tag and label on the child and his/her bag. If your child is having separation anxiety, a parent will be allowed to enter the classroom to make the child feel comfortable and at ease before exiting the classroom. If the child is having a difficult time for any reason, the teachers will page the parent via the numbered pager in the front of the sanctuary. When the service concludes, parents should arrive promptly at the sign-in desk to pick up their child and present the numbered tag to the Gatekeeper.

PLEASE NOTE: the numbered tag MUST be presented for the child to be picked up.

HOW ARE CHILDREN ASSIGNED TO A ROOM?

On the nursery level, transitioning from one class o the next occurs with age and development. There will be a move up Sunday in July where any 3-year old who is potty trained my transition upstairs to the preschool level Children should be independent with little or no assistance required. Children going into first grade will transition into the 1st Wave Kidz Ministry on the move up Sunday in July as well.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A ROOM REACHES CAPACITY?

If a room has reached capacity, please feel free to stay with your children in the family room located on the Nursery floor. (1st Floor)

HOW DO YOU KEEP MINIWAVE SAFE?

Because the safety of each child is so important, all children must be signed in according to our sign-in system. Proper identification must be presented to the sign-in attendant and teachers to drop off and pick up a child. In the event of of incident or accident, the parents will be contacted by the MiniWave Family Life Pastor. A first aid kit is available on each floor. General first aid will be administered by teachers as needed. No medication may be given except by the parent/guardian. In the event an evacuation is necessary there will be evacuation maps posted in each classroom. Parents will be notified to pick up children in the designated area outdoors. Authorized teachers and church staff will be available to assist. (Because our MiniWave Wing is new, the evacuation maps and procedures are in process and will be posted ASAP.) In the case of an intruder, the classroom doors will be locked and barricaded until the threat is alleviated. The teachers are instructed to remain calm and protect the children.
