Aleta Serrano is the President of Midwest Food Bank of Pennsylvania, the 11th location of Midwest Food Bank nationwide. In a state where 1 in 8 households experience food insecurity and nearly 40% of food is wasted, the mission is both urgent and vital. Under Aleta’s leadership, the Pennsylvania division has distributed tens of millions of dollars’ worth of food to people in need.
The Harrisburg location continues to see God’s provision through rescued and donated food, whether it is mislabeled applesauce, excess produce, or truckloads of canned goods, pasta, tortillas, and frozen meat. Food flows into the warehouse from manufacturers, farms, partners, and community drives, ensuring a steady supply of resources for those in need.
At Midwest Food Bank, everything is grounded in the hope of Christ. His sacrifice and victory are the foundation for serving others with compassion, excellence, and joy. Through the faithful support of partners and volunteers, the Pennsylvania team continues to share not only food but also the love and hope of Jesus every day.
